YGRR Special Needs Dogs

Not all Special Needs dogs require medical treatment. Some just need love, a bit of extra care, and an adopter willing to go the extra mile for a Golden with a handicap or one that has suffered abuse, severe cruelty or neglect, or lived a crated life in a puppy mill. The list of special needs dogs includes blind dogs, deaf dogs, three-legged dogs, and epileptic dogs. As characterizes the Seniors' program, very special people have and continue to come forward to provide loving homes for these Goldens. Some have even provided hospice care for a Golden found to have cancer after being admitted into the program.

There have also been extensive medical expenses necessitated by ten litters of puppies over the past twenty years, all of which have come to YGRR through shelter or animal control officers. YGRR was able to care for these puppies and their mothers who have occupied a great deal of YGRR space and time because of membership support and assistance. It is YGRR’s policy to provide our program’s lifetime services to each puppy born to a Golden whether or not they are purebred Goldens.

To help YGRR continue its work on behalf of these wonderful Goldens, please consider making a donation or becoming a member. Thank you.
