Hannah, YGRR #4786
Happily Adopted!

Eight-year-old Hannah found herself in need of rescue when her owner became ill and was placed on oxygen. Hannah's owner loved her very much and wanted to make sure she was placed in a loving home. Hannah was taken to the YGRR veterinarian where she was found to be overweight (91lbs!), hypothyroid, and dysplastic. She also had a small mass on her cornea. Hannah was put on medication and a diet and brought to Riverview. A follow up visit with an opthalmologist was done and it was determined that the mass was nothing to worry about!

Hannah loved cats and dogs so a family was called with one of each to meet her. Hannah did just great with Joey, the family's resident Basset, and off she went to her new home. Hannah also has her very own teenager to take her for walks and dote on her! Hannah is very busy and happy in her new home.

Tanya, YGRR #4783
Happily Adopted!

YGRR received a call in early 2010 asking for assistance for a ten year old Golden whose owner was too ill to care for her any longer. Tanya was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where she was given a geriatric workup. A number of lumps were removed which were all ultimately benign. Tanya did have an excess of protein in her urine (proteinuria) which needed to be treated. She came to Riverview and quickly became a favorite because of her easygoing temperament. Finally, all her medical work-ups looked great and it was time for her to go home!

Repeat adopters were called to meet Tanya. They led an active lifestyle and had already adopted a 6 year old Golden from YGRR named Brady, #4706. All went very well at the adoption appointment and Tanya has now settled into her new life. According to her adopters, she is doing just great and loves all of her new toys. She is always ready for their next adventure!

Rigel, YGRR #4685
Happily Adopted!

Rigel just finished a swim with her new adopters and is one happy Golden girl! Eight-year-old Rigel found herself in need of rescue when her owner died and there were no family members to take care of her. Rigel was described as a happy dog who craved attention. Rigel was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where she was given a geriatric workup. Other than being a little overweight and a bit arthritic, Rigel passed with flying colors! Adopters were called to meet Rigel and they thought she was just great. Rigel now spends very little time alone and leads an active lifestyle. Her adopters have already reported that they are absolutely, totally in love with Rigel and say that she is the best thing ever!

Ivy, YGRR #4789
Happily Adopted!

Ivy is happily in her new home where she is adored by her new family. Seven-year-old Ivy found herself in need of YGRR when her owners' home went into foreclosure and they had to move to no pets housing. They had owned Ivy since she was a puppy and were devastated to have to give her up. Ivy was taken to the YGRR veterinarian where she was spayed and given her YGRR tattoo.

A family was called to meet Ivy who were repeat adopters with YGRR and had been waiting quite awhile to adopt since a member of the family was in a wheelchair. The family did not want a rambunctious dog and hoped to find a Golden with a sweet temperament. The staff felt that Ivy would be a perfect match for the family which was indeed the case! They have already reported that Ivy is doing beautifully and is very well behaved. The whole family feels like it was a perfect fit!
