Sandy, YGRR #4763
Happily Adopted!

Three-year-old Sandy found her way to YGRR, because she became too much for her owner to handle. Sandy jumped up on people and barked at everyone! She chewed up a dining room set and was having toileting accidents in the house. So, the owner called YGRR. Sandy was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where she was treated for fleas, ear and skin infections. Sandy came to Riverview where she began basic training and got lots of exercise each day. An adopter was called who was home all day and took lots of walks. Her home included a safely fenced in yard and a cat named Mollie! All went well at the adoption appointment and Sandy is doing just fine in her new home. Sandy walks beautifully on a leash and is being very sweet to Mollie. Her adopter couldn't be happier and we're pretty sure Sandy feels the same way!

Lucy, YGRR #4768
Happily Adopted!

One-year-old Lucy was surrendered to YGRR, because she was too active for the family to manage. They said Lucy played relentlessly with their older dog and was too much for them to handle.

Lucy was brought into the program and taken to the YGRR veterinarian. She was found to have pyoderma (a skin infection) and tested positive for Anaplasmosis. Lucy was put on antibiotics for each condition and sent to Riverview to await her new home. A young couple who had been approved to adopt came to meet Lucy and spent a great deal of time with her. They wanted to make sure that her energy level was something they could manage. Now, Lucy is in her new home and doing just fine. She has the run of a beautifully fenced in yard and enjoys exercising one and a half hours a day. They report that Lucy enjoys a lot of belly-scratching time in between all the exercise!

Graham, YGRR #4709
Happily Adopted!

The second home is the charm for Graham, YGRR #4709. Graham was found running loose as a stray in the summer of 2009. He was held for the required time and no one came forward to claim him. Graham was estimated to be 3 years old and was picked up by YGRR staff and taken to the veterinarian. He was found to be in good health, was tattooed and given updated vaccinations. He came to Riverview and to wait for his new home. Repeat adopters who had just lost an elderly dog had applied for a younger Golden. Graham seemed to be a good match and all went well at the appointment. After a few months, Graham's adopters realized he was just too young and spirited a dog for their lifestyle. Graham came back to Riverview and didn't have to wait long for his next home. Repeat adopters came to meet Graham, took him home, and couldn't be happier with this sweet Golden boy. They say he has settled in and enjoys his long, daily walks with his new family. Graham is now where he needs to be!
