Stephanie, YGRR #4696

Happily Adopted!

Stephanie's owners took her to the veterinarian to be euthanized because she had ear problems, was having accidents in the home and had become an inconvenience to the family. The vet asked if the owners would be willing to sign eleven-year-old Stephanie over to the hospital and they agreed. YGRR was then notified by the veterinarian.

This sweet Golden girl was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where it was found that her ear canals were severely deformed after years of aural hemotomas that were never treated. Stephanie was obese at 101 pounds and had a urinary tract infection which was the cause of the accidents in her home. Stephanie was brought to Riverview where she finally received the medical treatment she needed. Stephanie settled in and quickly became a favorite of the staff. Upon a follow-up visit to the vet, it was decided to perform an ultrasound. Unfortuntely, lesions were noted on Stephanie's liver. Because Stephanie still had a good quality of life, a repeat adopter was called who enjoyed providing a loving home to seniors with medical issues. Stephanie is now with her new family and is doing great. She loves her new feline and canine companions and bounces happily around the house. Stephanie will never again lack the human or veterinary attention she so deserves.

Sam, YGRR #4889

Happily Adopted!

Two-year-old Sam is described by his new adoptive family as a "home run and a grand slam"! They say Sam is a wonderful dog who has adjusted beautifully to his new home.

Sam came to YGRR because a child in his family had allergies and asthma. They had owned Sam since puppyhood and it was a very difficult decision for the family. They said that Sam was a friendly and loveable Golden.

Sam's new family can't think of enough positive things to say about their new Golden family member. Suffice it to say Sam is a sweetheart and they love him!

Carly, YGRR #4678

Happily Adopted!

Nine-year-old Carly found herself in need of rescue when her owner got a divorce and could no longer afford to care for her. Carly was described as a friendly and sweet Golden who loved to go for car rides. Carly was brought to the YGRR veterinarian where she weighed in at 102 pounds! She was given a full geriatric exam, spayed, and tattooed. Carly was ultimately diagnosed with an ovarian adenocarcinoma which was discovered during her spay surgery.

Carly came to Riverview to rest and recuperate from her surgery. Repeat adopters were called to meet Carly and were open to taking home a senior, special needs Golden. Now, Carly is now in her new home and has settled right in. She spends very little time alone since there is usually someone home. Her adopters describe her as sweet and well behaved. Carly will receive all the loving attention she needs from her new family.
